Rotimi Amaechi, the minister of transportation and former governor of Rivers, has called on the people of the state to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the rerun election scheduled for Saturday, March 19.
The Cable reports that Amaechi appealed to the people while speaking at a town hall meeting in a community on Tuesday, March 15. He accused former president Goodluck Jonathan of imposing Governor Nyesom Wike on the people of the state. Therefore, he urged them to reject candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the election to “shame” the ex-president. According to Amaechi, the only way to stop Wike is to vote for the APC in the House of Representatives, House of Assembly and Senate.
