Obamas to dine with royal family in London

Washington (CNN)President Barack Obama has a royally packed schedule in London on Friday.
Two of his meals during a stop in the British capital will be shared with senior members of the royal family. After a visit to Windsor Castle to deliver 90th birthday greetings to Queen Elizabeth II, Obama will meet for dinner with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry at Kensington Palace in central London.

Government attempts to introduce a discriminatory residence test for anyone claiming legal aid have been summarily thrown out in a unanimous supreme court ruling.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the currency was stable in the previous week, maintaining value of between N315 and N320 to a dollar. However, the naira traded at N450 and N360 for Pound Sterling and the Euro respectively, at the day’s transaction. The naira also maintained N197 at the official Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) rate. Traders at the parallel market said that the proposed currency swap deal between Nigeria and China would shore up the value of the naira when implemented.

NYSC to raise corps members’ allowances – outgoing D-G

Brig.-Gen. Johnson Olawumi, the outgoing Director-General of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), on Monday announced plans to increase allowances of corps members soon.
Olawumi said this in Abuja while handing over to the new director-general of the scheme, Brig.-Gen. Sule Kazaure. He said the management of the scheme had drawn the attention of the Federal Government to the need to increase the allowances. 

Olawumi said there was positive signal that the federal government would grant the request. “We have brought to federal government’s attention the urgent need to increase some of the allowances due to corps members and recent response suggests a strong ray of light at the end of the tunnel.
